INTERVIEW: Talk with the CDI Lier organiser, About ambition and goals.

A new concept is launched for the international dressage community. Next week the first CDI Lier Masters will start as a part of the World Dressage Masters circuit. An Ukrainian organizer took the opportunity to set up a new class event in Lier, Belgium. Time to have a little chat with the man behind the scenes... A new concept, a new event - everyone is curious who is the organizer? Yes we are happy to present the first CDI in Lier ever. This event is created by the VIAN Group - an Ukrainian company - in partnership with the World Dressage Masters. Vian Group has experience in organizing equestrian events. Mainly in Ukraine. Why the Lier Masters? And not Ukraine Masters? The Ukrainian dressage team is based in Malle, Belgium, for more then 3 years. Belgium is a great country for the horse sport, but puts a big focus on breeding and show jumping. There are few international dressage competitions. That is why we took the initiative to contribute with a new event. The reason why we organize it in the Azelhof in Lier speaks for itself. The Azelhof is one of the major and best indoor facilities there are. Further it is close by, which makes the organisation a lot easier. The program is ambitious. The Lier Masters offers a mixed program, is it ambition or passion? We love all classes in the dressage world. It is definitely passion. Because we just adore dressage we decided to offer a week-long show with a total of 6 classes. Why is this CDI different from the other competitions in Belgium (or Europe?) We try to give everyone the opportunity to compete. We accepted all riders who applied through our online entry system. That’s why we have this intensive program. All 6 days competition will be from 8am till 9-11pm. What is the idea and ultimate ambition? The event will offer Great riders, a super arena, FREE entrance and a well-organized VIP hospitality. In our 6 days of competition we hope to develop Belgium (step by step) as a CDI hosting country and contribute to the global development of the dressage sport.
