Pénélope Leprévost leads equestrian Olympic Torch team on Omaha Beach

The journey of the Olympic torch began on Omaha Beach, where an equestrianism team relay took place with Olympic gold medallist Pénélope Leprévost as the captain. 

This event showcased various equestrian disciplines, with 24 relay participants, including 80-year-old François Lucas and recent French championships competitor Émilie Godard. Comedian Nicolas Canteloup, a French silver medallist in the over-40s eventing category, also participated. The relay highlighted the equestrian heritage of Calvados, a region known for its stud farms, racecourses, and equestrian centres.
