Farewell to Mr. Blue Sky UK

© Tomas Holcbecher

British show jumper Guy Williams has paid a moving tribute to his horse, Mr. Blue Sky. Under Williams, the 15-year-old gelding by Chacco-Blue achieved the highest branch of the sport.

Williams' Instagram message reflects the deep bond between rider and horse, and the sadness of a rider having to say goodbye to a faithful partner. “Blue, you owe me nothing, you gave me everything.” Together they had ridden countless competitions, achieved successes and experienced unforgettable moments. Williams describes their relationship as a true partnership in which Mr. Blue Sky, also affectionately called “Blue,” always gave everything he had. This was no ordinary horse - Blue was a legend in the eyes of his rider and those who knew him.

“I can't thank you enough for the joy you brought me, my family and friends,” he said.

With deep empathy, Williams also turns his thoughts to Elaine Annis, Caroline and Rupert Phillips, individuals who were undoubtedly closely associated with Blue.
