Last weekend, Belgian U25 showjumper Gilles Thomas put in a top performance at the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in Miami. "This was an absolute top experience! If I have to one negative thing it was probably the bad weather on Friday", says Gilles Thomas. On Monday the young Belgian made a pit stop in Sint-Katelijne-Waver in Belgium, where we had the opportunity to speak to him briefly.
2022 immediately started with a bang at a five-star level. "Indeed," says Gilles Thomas,"for me it was the first 5* Grand Prix of the season and for my horse, Luna van het Dennehof, who immediately started in her first 5* GP of her career. She did what she does best, staying clear over the fences."
Gilles: "The horses that are in Miami travel straight on to Mexico. I got on a plane and flew straight to Belgium. Next week I will fly to Mexico to start there. Furthermore, after the 3* Nations Cups in Lisbon and Madrid, I hope to be part of the Belgian A-team later this year."
We wish you all the luck with that goal, Gilles!
