Canada’s Bretton Chad and Stone Ridge Farms have acquired the lovely Quelmec du Gery from Artisan Farms. The exciting 11 year old Selle Français gelding debuted with Canada’s Eric Lamaze at Spruce Meadows in June of 2013. Lamaze took over the ride from France’s Penelope Leprevost in 2013. The pair finished third in Barcelona’s CSIO5* Estrella Damm Trophy in 2013 as well as a number of top six placings at Spruce Meadows. Canada’s Bretton Chad competed Quelmec du Gery in Saturday night’s $127,000 CSI4* Engel & Völkers Grand Prix. “We purchased Quelmec du Gery from Artisan Farms and Eric Lamaze early this year” said Bretton. “I’m very lucky to have such an amazing horse to help me start competing at the next level of the sport! He is only 15.2 hands tall but has an incredible ring presence!” “Next I plan to compete with Quelmec at the Del Mar National Horse Show in Del Mar, California for the $100,000 Grand Prix. Then we will be at Spruce Meadows for the Summer Series.” “I was lucky enough to spend the 2014 summer to fall training and competing with Eric in Europe. It was an incredible experience that really opened my eyes to the top level of our sport. Along with being a great competitor, Eric is also a phenomenal coach. I really look forward to learning more from both Quelmec and Eric in the future and I am exited for the rest of the season!”
