Harrie Smolders jumps over Maikel van der Vleuten and takes pole position in GCT Ranking

The end is near for the Global Champions Tour. With only two legs left in the schedule, the rankings have been completely shaken up after the previous LGCT in Valkenswaard. Maikel van der Vleuten held the top position for a long time but has to relinquish his lead to fellow countryman Harrie Smolders.

Neither Smolders nor Van der Vleuten could secure a spot in the jump-off of the LGCT Grand Prix on their home turf. However, the points of the GCT leader were deducted, propelling Smolders to dethrone his compatriot.

Van der Vleuten maintains a place on the podium and is currently in second position, trailing behind Smolders. In third is the Frenchman Simon Delestre. The world number one, Henrik von Eckermann, is seen in fifth place after Christian Kukuk, who claims fourth.
