The dates of the Longines Global Champions Tour of Antwerp are slightly modified. The event will start on Thursday April 21 instead of Wednesday April 20. The LGCT will not only have a highlight on Saturday but also on Sunday with the first stage of the Longines Global Champions Tour League on European soil. Several reasons made us change the date: * organizational stipulations of the Global Champions Tour: - the event in Mexico City, the weekend before Antwerp, makes it practically impossible for the riders to be in Antwerp on Wednesday - we want top sport of the highest level (5*) every day on the program * expectations of the national federations * broadcasting rights from several TV channels In the original program it was impossible to combine all these elements. The change of date has no disadvantages, on the contrary, on Sunday the public can visit more easily this top event than on a weekday. The number of visitors can only increase because of the extra day in the weekend.
