Bryan Balsiger and Ak's Courage (Chepetto C) already entered the prize ceremony of every class they entered this week in Saint Tropez, with today's top performance being a gold medal in the 5* 1.50m high Longines Ranking class - the main class of the day.
Balsiger stayed double clear, and with a fast time of 38.10 seconds he gave the competition no chance. Denis Lynch finished a second slower on the back of Gc Chopin's Bushi (Contendro II) and came in second. Italian Piergiorgio Bucci jumped to the third fastest time with Naiade d'Elsendam Z (Nabab de Reve).
The spot just next to the podium was also filled by an Italian rider. Giulia Martinengo Marquet, previously good for two gold medals in the 5* classes, now had to be satisfied with fourth place together with Scuderia 1918 Calle Deluxe (Cesano 2). Belgian Thierry Goffinet sent the 10-year-old bay gelding Caruso de Mignot (Diamant de Semilly) to fifth in a time of 42.46 seconds.
