At Equita Lyon, the drivers once again took center stage. The sporting program kicked off on Saturday with the Driving World Cup. Boyd Exell drove to perfection and steered his four-in-hand to another World Cup victory.
The inevitable winner was once again Boyd Exell. The Australian recorded a total of 162.49 points in the jump-off with his four-in-hand, making him the best. Ijsbrand Chardon incurred a penalty point both in his basic round and the jump-off, sending him home with the silver medal and a total of 169.74. Dries Degrieck had a flawless jump-off but had some bad luck in the first round, placing him in the bronze position with a total of 174.31.
Glenn Geerts had an almost flawless performance with his four-in-hand and finished in fourth place. The top five was rounded out by the Swiss driver Jérôme Voutaz.
