Team Swiss wins the Nations Cup of Ireland

The 1.60m high course proved to be challenging as many riders and horses went wrong over the two rounds. For Switzerland, only Bryan Balsiger had one down in his first round with Chelsea Z, the rest of the team managed to keep the zero on the board.

For Switzerland, Steve Guerdat had Venard de Cerisy (v. Open Up Semilly) under the saddle to stay double clear. Also Martin Fuchs guided Leone Jei (v. Baltic VDL) to a double clear. Bryan Balsiger and Chelsea Z (v. Chellano Alpha Z) had one down in the first round but managed to stay clear in the second round. Edouard Schmitz and Gamin van 't Naastveldhof (v. Chacco Chacco) didn't make a fault in the first round but decided not to go in for a second. With a total of zero points, the Swiss won this Nations Cup.

Guest country and winners of last year, Ireland had to settle for second place. No rider was able to keep a double zero score. For Michael Pender and HHS Calais (v. Cavalier Royale) there was a pole down in both rounds. Michael Duffy and Cinca (v. Casall) had one down in the first round but were able to stay clear in the second. Cian O'Connor had the same scenario with Eve d'Ouilly (v. Qlassic Bois Margot). Shane Sweetnam had a clear round with James Kann Cruz (v. Cruising) but also didn't start in the second round. With a total of twelve points, the Irish took silver.
