The stunning Sea Coast Stables in Moerzeke, Belgium – home to Belgium’s top-ranked female rider Gudrun Patteet – is one of the most exciting and unique new venues in the international showjumping calendar for 2023, as the inaugural Equestrian Summer Cup is being launched next summer.
From July 20 to 23, the Equestrian Summer Cup will combine CSI4*, CSI1* as well as CSIYH* competitions – all on a vast grass arena measuring 135m x 85m. With five CSI4* classes counting for the Longines Rankings, a total of €300,000 of prize money on offer and a 1.60m Grand Prix as the highlight of the four days of competition, the Equestrian Summer Cup looks set to be a must-attend for riders and showjumping fans alike.
From dream to reality
“We are all working hard to offer our competitors, including their support teams, and visitors, one of the most unforgettable events of 2023,” Nicolas Deridder, President of the Equestrian Summer Cup, tells. “It has always been my dream to organize a beautiful show such as this, and now Gudrun has given me a unique opportunity to make this dream become a reality at Sea Coast Stables,” Deridder continues. “For a long time, we have talked about organizing something special. We knew we wanted to do another show on grass, since we don’t have so many of them here in Belgium. We aim to create a five-star set up for the show, and Sea Coast Stables surely has the right infrastructure for it. In addition to the amazing facilities for our horses, grooms and riders, the VIP area is going to be wonderful, and so is the exhibition village which provides the exhibitors with a unique opportunity to expand their customer base.”
“Our goal is to grow, and to organize a five-star show in the future,” Deridder adds.
With top level sport in the most glamourous and luxurious equestrian setting, the event also offers the opportunity to expand networks. At The Club of Legends, it will be possible to treat guests to an exclusive experience in a completely private VIP area, while The Riders Sky Club offers a magnificent VIP terrace to chat with the world class athletes attending the event.
