Today the CSIO3 star Military Boekelo in the Netherlands was blessed with perfect weather conditions. Some small changes had been made to the course compared to last year and riders were excited for their chance to compete. After two days of dressage the judges put Great Britain in the lead of the nations cup. After a sunny day with plenty of exciting rounds, team GB has managed to stay in the lead. Oliver Townend, Isabelle (Izzy) Taylor and Laura Colett all performed excellent with a clear round, except for a few time penalties. However the rest of the leadership has shuffled around quite a bit. Riders struggled with various jumps in the course, in particular number 7B 'Teesinck Paddock' and 9 B/C 'The Ten Cate Water Jump' seemed to pose a challenge. Also despite the perfect weather conditions and many clear rounds, the time limit was set tight. Causing many riders to collect time penalties. It is now the Dutch team in second position, climbing up from seventh place thanks to strong rides from Elaine Pen, Alice Naber Lozeman, Theo van Vendel and Tim Lips. And the New Zealand team moved up from fourth to third position with Sir Mark Todd, Daniel Jocelyn and Blyth Tait. Following closely is team Germany, with Ben Leuwer, Andreas Dibowski and Stephanie Böhe. With just a few points difference and both Andreas and Stephanie showing great performace, they are definitely still in the running for a top 3 placement. Sunday October 9 the competition will be concluded with the jumping. The competition starts at 9:00 o'clock with the veterenarian check followed by the jumping at 11:00 o'clock.
