The autumn sun was bright and bold at the Dutta Corp. Fair Hill International as competitors dressed to impress for the formal horse inspection. Located in beautiful Fair Hill, Maryland, the Dutta Corp. Fair Hill International is one of the most prestigious international three-day events in the United States, and draws some of the world's top eventing horses and riders. This year, the Dutta Corp. Fair Hill International will once again host the CCI3* along with a CCI2* and the USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) East Coast Championships. In the CCI3* forty-seven out of forty-eight horses were accepted during the first inspection. New Zealand competitor Joe Meyer withdrew one of his two mounts of the weekend, South Paw, after being held during inspection. Justine Dutton was also held with Huck Finn, but was later accepted after re-inspection. The CCI2* also experienced changes in the lineup. In a field of forty-six horse-and-rider combinations, forty-three will move forward in the competition. Withdrawn from the CCI2* was Sempre Fino ridden by Kelly Beaver, RF Overdressed ridden by Marilyn Little and Canadian competitor Waylon Roberts riding Lancaster. The Dressage phase of the competition for the CCI3*, the CCI2* and the YEH Championships will commence on Thursday, October 13. The YEH Championships will conclude on Friday, October 14, with the jumping evaluation. The CCI3*and CCI2* will continue the competition through the weekend with cross-country on Saturday, October 15 followed by show jumping on Sunday, October, 16.
