After day two it was already clear Germany was in the lead to win the first FEI Nations Cup Eventing in Fontainebleau. Yesterday the Germans confirmed their supremacy by actually winning the first lap of this Nations Cup series. With a total of 159,4 points the winning team (Michael Jung (Leopin FST), Sandra Auffarth (King Artus), Andreas Dibowksi (Butts Leon) and Frank Ostholt (Little Paint)) kept France away from victory. France ended second with 165,2 points while Italy followed in third place with a total of 174,4 points. The Dutch riders were satisfied with a fourth place after obtaining a team total of 193,4 points.
In the individuel CICO3* the complete stage was German colored. Olympic Champion Michael Jung triumphed with La Biosthetique-Sam (s. Stan the Man). The pair won with a total of 35,6 points, the same score after their individual dressage course. on the back of Leopin FST Michael Jung ended in a third place after having 8 penalty points at the cross country. Sandra Auffarth and Opgun Louvu (s. Shogoun) ended second with a total of 37,4 points. Also this pair left the showjumping and country-part without extra faults.
