The start of the new season sees a fresh leader board in the Gatehouse sponsored 1* League. Open to riders who have not competed at 3* level, the league is based on BE points collected at British CIC and CCI1* competitions, and, following Aldon and Great Witchingham International in March, Adam Harvey and his own Picasso V take an early lead with eight points. A win in the CIC1* at Aldon International (1) gave Adam the maximum eight points available to sit at the head of the table above Helen Bates and her own and Christine Bates’ Cooley Mexico who gained seven BE points from the second place finish in the Great Witchingham International (1) CIC1*. Christina Henriksen and her own Cayr Della Caccia currently hold third place in the league with six points following their third place finish in the Great Witchingham CIC1*, whilst Jasmine Abraham’s fourth place in the Aldon 1* on Genuine Pearl secured them five BE points for a fourth place in the table. Completing the top five at this early stage of the Gatehouse 1* League is Jasmine Roach and Woodlands Unforgettable who took a sixth place from the 1* at Great Witchingham International. Thanks to the league sponsors Gatehouse the top five at the end of the 2017 season will take home a share of an impressive prize package worth £5,000 which includes Gatehouse and Rodney Powell products along with an invitation for a lesson with a top Gatehouse sponsored rider. More information, plus the full Gatehouse league table can be found HERE. Generous supporters of British Eventing, Gatehouse are also title sponsors of the training programme for riders aiming for, or looking to become more confident at 1* - the Stepping Stones training series. Gatehouse Stepping Stones Training is suitable for riders over 21 years aiming for, or wishing to become more established at, CIC or CCI1* in 2017. Each training day has been carefully scheduled to help riders prepare for specific 1* events, but are also open to riders seeking extra guidance at that level without a specific 1* competition in their schedule. More information and training dates can be found HERE.
