Organisers get ready for Dalston Green

The AW Jenkinson Forest Products Dalston Green (1) event on 29th and 30th April kicks off the Cumbria Horse Trials series of six BE affiliated events for 2017 with a strong showing of new BE Members in the BE80 and BE90 classes. Douglas Weymouth, Joint Organiser commented; “We have some 70 horse and rider combinations tackling their first event at the BE80 and BE90 levels and they will enjoy ideal conditions over the Rickerby Family’s lovely parkland which is looking gloriously green this week. We also have many other combinations who have recently started eventing and are attending this super grass roots event looking to gain further experience. “Dalston Green will see its BE105 track run for a second time with some minor changes having been made and including a new ditch crossing combination and the addition of a further element or two in the latter part of the course. The Cumbria series will see some additional sponsorship with Santa Rita Wines generously supporting a BE100 series title, the Lakes Free Range Egg Company supporting a Junior Series title and local car dealership Jim Walton (Toyota) providing a Young Rider title. “The long running Cumbria Riders Challenge Trophy sponsored by Robinson Udale Accountants will be closely followed by the increasing number of county based riders and all the 2017 leader boards may be viewed on the Cumbria Horse Trials website. The next event in Cumbria follows in just three weeks at Warwick Hall (1) where the Waitings Warwick Hall Cup triple event challenge gets underway.”
