Team Britain takes gold at eventing EU-CH Pony's, Irish team claims silver

Ireland's incredible run of results at Youth level in Equestrian sport has continued today (Sunday), as the GAIN Irish Under 16 (Pony)  Eventing team have won the team Silver Medal at The European Pony Eventing Championships at Bishop Burton in England, while Kildare's Sophie Foyle has also taken the individual Silver Medal. The Irish team of Isabelle Comerford (Colour Me Fancy (ISH), Chloe Fagan (Fernhill Timbacktoo), Sophie Foyle (Little Miss Fernhill (ISH)(TIH) and Harry Swan with Wilderwood Storm (ISH), led by team manager Becky Cullen, were in fourth place after the opening Dressage phase. They moved into Silver medal position after Saturday's Cross Country with all four Irish riders jumping clear  Ireland added just 8 penalties in the final Show Jumping phase to finish on a total of 107.5. The home team from Britain took Gold on 101.0, while France claimed the Bronze on 108.5. The individual competition saw Sophie Foyle jump a brilliant final clear round to take the individual Silver Medal on a final score of 32.10. Britain's Saffron Osborne and Little Indian Feather claimed the Gold on 28.0, while Daisy Proctor (GBR) and Holiday Cruise took Bronze on 32.20. Chloe Fagan finished just outside the individual medals in fifth, with Ava Banahan (Regent Des Mauvis) in ninth, Harry Swan 11th, Isabelle Comerford 14th and Holly Love with Cloughreagh Charlie (ISH)(TIH) in 17th place.
