The World Championships for Young Eventing Horses is facing its last day at French Le Lion d'Angers. Following the group of 6-year-olds and new World Champion Fire Fly, it was Weisse Düne who could claim the title in the group of 7-years-old eventing prospects. It was a start-to-finish victory for German eventer Ingrid Klimke and Weisse Düne (by Clarimo) who finished the championships with their dressage score of 36.9. Finishing clearly ahead of the other competitors it was a well-deserved victory for the talented Holsteiner mare and Münster-based Klimke. British Pippa Funnel and Billy Walk On (by Billy Mexico) had two poles down in the final showjumping but could keep their silver position with a final result of 47.0 penalties. Jonelle Price (NZL) competing the KWPN - bred Cooley Showtime (by Chin Chin) completed the podium with a final score of 47.3 penalties. Thomas Carlile for France and Vassily de Lassos claimed 4th place with again a final score of 47.3 afre a clear round in showjumping. His collegue Astier Nicolas completed the Top 5 with a similar result of 47.3 aboard Vinci de la Vigne. Click here for the results.
