World number one Olivier Townend is currently leading the dressage for eventing riders. In Tokyo, the British rider achieved a score of 76.36% with multiple five-star winner Ballaghmor Class (Courage II).
The British rider was delighted with his 23.6. "A nice ride and nice score," he told Eventing Nation. In second place is Chinese Alex Hu Tian with Don Geniro (Don Kennedy). The pair follows with 23.9 for Julia Krajewski with Amande de B'Neville (Oscar des Fontaines) in the saddle. The German achieved a total of 25.2.
The second group will start tomorrow.
