Adelaide’s social scene is set to party in style with sporting stars, premium food and wine, fashion, prizes and plenty of on the field action at the 2014 Grant Burge Wines Polo in the Park; part of the Australian International Three Day Event (Aus3DE). To be held in Victoria Park on the evening of Friday November 14, Polo in the Park will see some of the best players from South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales battle it out. The VIP Marquee is the place to be, with a range of gourmet food stations from the Hilton Hotel, Grant Burge Wines and a fashions on the field competition judged by Liza Emanuele and Helen Burge offering prizes from Grant Burge and Lancome. “I have always loved horses so supporting such a prestigious international event in the heart of Adelaide that combines outstanding equestrian sports, fashion, fun and fine wine is easy!” Helen said. Players include South Australians Mark Lindh and Scott Tonkin plus Victorians Clemi Mann and Sam Gairdner, who has previously played in England with Prince Harry. The event will feature music, player interviews, live commentary by entertaining Englishman Ed Holloway and – like in ‘Pretty Woman’ – guests will be invited to stomp the divots at half time. Grant Burge Wines will also be running an Instagram competition with prizes for the most creative images showing guests enjoying the event. Polo in the Park is part of the Aus3DE – the Southern Hemisphere’s most prestigious equestrian event, to be held in Adelaide’s eastern parklands from November 13-16. In what’s considered the triathlon of horse sports, riders including many Olympians and world champions will compete in a packed schedule of competition with dressage on Thursday and Friday, Qantas Cross Country Day on Saturday and ATCO Show Jumping Day on Sunday. Master classes will be presented by riders including Current German Olympic team gold medallist and World Champion Sandra Auffarth, her German team mate Dirk Schrade, and Aussie Olympian and last year’s Aus3DE winner Chris Burton. Aus3DE is the only event of its kind in the world to be held within a city and will also offer food trucks, VW Bars, kids’ activities and shopping.
