Abdel Saïd has done it again. The Belgian rider stood out today in the CSI5* 1.50m main class in Abu Dhabi. In this speed class, Saïd jumped to victory with the 16-year-old mare, Arpege du Ru (Apache d'Adriers, breeder: Christophe Legue), finishing in a time of 54.46 seconds. "I am truly delighted with Arpege; she always gives 1,000,000%," says Saïd.
"Arpege is a truly competitive mare; I really enjoy being able to ride her! I truly feel that as a duo, we are unbeatable," Saïd continues. "Tomorrow I will be competing in Doha, only to return to ride the Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi on Sunday..."
Abdel Saïd and the 16-year-old mare dived over a full second under the time set by Joseph Stockdale with the 10-year-old KWPN gelding, Laska JDV (Gaspahr). Swedish rider Antonia Pettersson Häggström completed the top three. Together with the 11-year-old KWPN mare, Komme Vous (Comme Il Faut), the Swede finished ahead of David Will.
Will and the 11-year-old Xixo Borgia (Big Star) were followed by Sophie Hinners and the 10-year-old Zangersheide mare, Iron Dames Kaleni Jo (Kannan).
