Andres Vereecke recently won the CSI4* Grand Prix of Liège with Perle d'Or van de Gaverstede. For Vereecke and the 10-year-old BWP mare, this was also their final international appearance together. “Some goodbyes are harder than others,” Vereecke shares.
“Last week we said farewell to a truly exceptional talent. The feeling and the bond I had with this mare cannot be described in words! She really gave me everything—her heart, her energy, and her dedication!” the Belgian rider says.
In addition to winning the CSI4* Grand Prix in Liège, Vereecke also rode the daughter of Wandor vd Mispelaere to two third-place finishes in the 1.50m CSI3* Big Tour in St. Tropez. This year, the pair also reached the podium in the 1.50m Longines Ranking class in Opglabbeek and finished in the prizes of the CSI2* 1.45m Grand Prix of Bonheiden.
