First reserve: Emilie Conter with Portobella van de Fruitkorf
-
Second reserve: Jos Verlooy with Parise van den Dael
With this selection, Belgium brings together experience, young talent, and proven top form. Each combination has already demonstrated its value at the highest level.
Team Manager Peter Weinberg has high expectations for the team:
“In recent weeks, we’ve shown a lot of good things at the top level. We won silver medals in La Baule and St. Gallen, proved in Rotterdam that we can perform even under pressure, and just this Saturday Gilles Thomas won the 5* Grand Prix in Paris. So I think it’s only natural that I’m hoping for a strong performance at the European Championships. Even though this championship isn’t a qualifying event, and we’re only competing for medals, I still consider it an important competition. Every championship is important, and it’s also a good benchmark for other highlights still to come this year, like the 5* Nations Cup on home soil in Brussels at the end of August, and the LLN Nations Cup Final in Barcelona.”
