Ireland’s Bertram Allen seems to have found a permanent residence in the winner's circle at the Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF). Just one day after claiming a major victory, Allen returned to the International Arena to dominate the CSI4 $32,000 1.50m Speed Class*, this time aboard the agile 12-year-old Danish Warmblood mare, Zero K (Kannan GFE x Robin ii z).
The pair appeared to defy gravity, navigating the technical track with a daring pace that left the rest of the 36-entry field chasing their shadows. Allen’s dominance didn’t end with the win; he also secured the fifth-place spot with Kadans, an 11-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, proving his exceptional form across multiple mounts.
The podium saw a repeat of the previous day’s top talent but in a different order of flags. American rising star Ansgar Holtgers Jr continued his impressive week, claiming second place aboard the 11-year-old mare Kantibes. He was followed closely by fellow American Lillie Keenan, who rode the 9-year-old Luxemburger stallion Chagrin d'Amour to a podium finish in third.
This result mirrored the leaderboard from Thursday’s CSI4 $116,100 Adequan WEF Challenge Cup*, where Allen and Holtgers Jr also finished first and second.
