In Deauville this weekend there was jumping at CSI4* level. The weekend therefore just ended with the Grand Prix of the CSI4* competition. The combinations were presented with a tough basic course: only five combinations left the basic course with zero on the counter. A jump-off with five therefore had to be conclusive. Victory ultimately remained in France: Mathieu Billot, riding Lord de Muze (by Nabab de Reve), a 13-year-old BWP gelding, was able to jump a clear jump-off in 37.12 seconds. With this, he was half a second faster than Darragh Kenny who finished in second place with Eddy Blue (by Eldorado vd Zeshoek).
Kenny and his Eddy Blue were able to record a clear round behind their name in 37.63 seconds. Kevin Staut completed the podium. The rider, who faced a dose of bad luck during the Olympics, completed the podium. He counted on Dialou Blue PS (by Tailormade Diarado's Boy) to jump to the finish in 38.12 seconds. Cedric Hurel (Fantasuo Floreval Z) and Pedro Veniss (Nimrod de Muze Imperio Egipcio) finished fourth and fifth respectively.
