Jeroen Dubbeldam's bronze European Championship medal winner, Nassau (Indoctro x Sovereign Bill xx), has passed away at the age of 31. The news was announced by the stud farm Hengstenhouderij Gebr. van Manen. Nassau competed at the highest level of show jumping with Dutch rider Jeroen Dubbeldam in the saddle.
Dubbeldam finished third at the European Championship in 2005. "Nassau was a truly fantastic horse," Dubbeldam previously stated in an interview. The stallion passed away on Wednesday, June 3, at the age of 31.
The team at Gebr. van Manen shared: "A life filled with many beautiful highlights and victories. We are also incredibly grateful that he was able to enjoy more than 10 years of his well-deserved retirement with us!
Nassau, thank you for all the beautiful memories and moments you gave us. From winning Grand Prix classes and double bronze at the European Championship with Jeroen Dubbeldam, to later winning championships together with Melony. It was always a joy whenever you entered the arena. No obstacle was too high for you. Always eager, a deeply admirable mentality, a true fighter—that is what you were!"
