The incident occurred during unloading in Leipzig, when D’Aganix 2000 Z was coming off the truck. He slipped and fell on a slippery surface, suffering a severe injury to his thigh as a result.

Despite immediate assistance and intensive care from multiple veterinarians, it soon became clear that recovery was no longer a realistic option and that a pain-free life, let alone a well-deserved retirement, could not be guaranteed. The difficult decision to euthanise him was made out of responsibility and care for the horse.

Proven at 1.60m level with Christian Ahlmann

D’Aganix 2000 Z quickly made an impact on the international stage. Under the saddle of Christian Ahlmann, he became a consistent presence in 1.60m classes and delivered strong results at top events. One of his standout sporting moments was winning the Open Sires of the World at Zangersheide International, where he showcased himself as both a breeding stallion and an elite sport horse.

In 2025, the pair also recorded several placings, including notable performances in Peelbergen and at the Brussels Stephex Masters.

Pedigree featuring Zangersheide icon bloodlines

Alongside his sport career, D’Aganix 2000 Z carried a pedigree that sparked high expectations in breeding. He was sired by Dominator 2000 Z and came from a dam line by Aganix du Seigneur Z, out of Andiamixa Hero Z (Aganix du Seigneur x Andiamo).

He was regarded as a stallion who combined the power and reflexes of his sire with the scope and mindset so often attributed to Aganix offspring.

The entire Equnews editorial team extends its deepest condolences to everyone around D’Aganix 2000 Z.
