Irish show jumper Darragh Kenny is cleared to return to (international) competition starting February 13. The international governing body, the FEI, has lifted his provisional suspension. Kenny was originally suspended following a positive drug test, a move that sparked significant criticism because the specific context of the situation was initially overlooked.
Kenny’s suspension began on October 13, 2025. According to the FEI’s public anti-doping database, Kenny tested positive for a stimulant falling under Category S6 of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) list. The FEI stated that the investigation is being handled by the International Testing Agency (ITA), which manages the anti-doping program for human athletes on behalf of the FEI.
The rider emphasized that he never intended to gain an unfair advantage, explaining that his medication is part of a legitimate, doctor-supervised treatment plan for ADHD.
