Belgian showjumper Emilie Conter has bid farewell to her talented mare Ellabelle de Rie Z. The eleven-year-old daughter of Elvis ter Putte departs from Stephex Stables to continue her sporting career in the United States, where she will now compete under American rider Gabrielle Kozel.
“I’ll miss this lovely mare in the stables, but I’m sure she’ll make her new rider very happy,” Conter shared.
Ellabelle de Rie Z (Elvis ter Putte x Tornado), bred by Equi Consult VOF and developed at Stephex Stables, grew into a reliable competition partner under Emilie Conter. The mare descends from the well-known damline of Jeleena de Muze, making her closely related to several international showjumpers from the famous Chin Chin family.
With Conter in the saddle, Ellabelle appeared on the international stage, impressing in the young horse classes with her carefulness and attitude. “She’s incredibly kind to handle and always willing to give her best,” Conter said earlier about her chestnut mare.
With the move to Gabrielle Kozel, Ellabelle begins a new chapter in her career. Kozel expressed her excitement about the arrival of her new mount:
"Can’t wait for the future with this special girl."
