The news was shared by Israeli international rider Isabella Russekoff, who partnered with the chestnut gelding during the final chapter of his illustrious career. The announcement follows just six weeks after Russekoff shared the heartbreaker that the pair would have to miss their long-targeted appearance at CHIO Aachen.

Bred by W. Wolters by the legendary sire Cardento and out of a Concorde dam, C Vier 2 was defined throughout his career by an unrelenting desire to clear the timber.

He first commanded global attention under Germany’s David Will. The pair became a formidable force at the sport's highest tier, producing double-clear rounds on Nations Cup duty and securing a historic victory in the prestiges CSIO5 Rolex Grand Prix at Rome's Piazza di Siena* in 2021. Their stellar partnership peaked at the 2021 European Championships in Riesenbeck, where they captured Team Silver and placed among the top individual contenders.

Following his campaign with Will, C Vier 2 joined the stable of Irish Olympic medalist Cian O’Connor, helping team Ireland to a 4th-place finish at the 2022 World Championships in Herning and collecting podium finishes in Dublin and Wiesbaden.

When Russekoff acquired C Vier 2, the veteran gelding proved to be the ultimate partner, taking her to the pinnacle of the sport and anchoring Team Israel during their successful qualification campaign for the Paris Olympics.

In a poignant tribute published to social media, Russekoff paid homage to the gelding's fierce spirit and gentle soul: "Cvier made my wildest dream of jumping in the Olympics come true. The journey was full of setbacks, long days, and moments when everything felt against us, but he always had my back, gave me 110%, and made the impossible possible. I’ve never met a horse with more fight. No challenge was too big, and his heart never let him give up. He taught me patience, trust, and what it means to be a true partner. He was my other half, and I’ll miss our quiet moments as much as the big ones... There will never be enough thank yous in the world to show all my gratitude I have for Cvier. He will forever be my guardian angel."
