Born in 2008, Remix was sired by Quidam de Revel out of a Come On dam. Before joining Gillioz, the mare had already competed successfully under the saddles of Swiss rider Elin Ott and American rider Paris Sellon.

In the spring of 2023, Gillioz joined the stables of Olympic Champion Steve Guerdat. To support and accelerate his pupil’s transition to the top level, Guerdat acquired the experienced grey. The move proved to be a masterstroke: early in 2024, Gillioz and Remix officially teamed up, rapidly achieving impressive results on the international circuit.

International Successes

With the young Swiss rider in the saddle, Remix claimed victory in the 1.45m Grand Prix at the CSI2* in Gesves on July 12. The duo also made their mark at the prestigious CHI Geneva, placing fifth in a 1.55m class in December 2025, following a seventh-place finish in the same class a year earlier.

"My grey, my little dinosaur: THANK YOU!"

In a heartfelt tribute on Instagram, Gillioz reflected on their special bond: "Without knowing it, two weeks ago in Sion, we were together in the ring for the last time. You were eighteen years old, but you still jumped as if you were ten years younger. Always that desire, always that strength, and that way of making me believe anything was possible. Today, I am not just losing a horse; I am losing a partner with whom I built a huge part of my young career."

Gillioz also expressed his gratitude to his mentor Steve Guerdat and the team behind the scenes: "Remix, I don't know if anyone is ever truly ready to say goodbye to a horse like you. So I will simply say thank you. Thank you for choosing me, thank you for your trust, and for everything we went through. My grey, my little dinosaur: THANK YOU! You can rest now. I will continue my journey, but a part of that path will always be with you."
