In Madrid, the Longines Global Champions Tour welcomed world-class sport in the GCL Individual Competition over 1.60m. Germany’s Hans-Dieter Dreher emerged as the standout performer aboard Vestmalle des Cotis, producing the only clear round under 80 seconds to secure an emphatic victory in the prestigious class.
The win went convincingly to Hans-Dieter Dreher and the experienced Vestmalle des Cotis (Baloubet du Rouet). The pair delivered a superb faultless performance against the clock, stopping the timers in 79.75 seconds and setting a pace none of the remaining riders could match.
Ireland’s Ciaran Nallon followed in second place with Casalla Blue PS (Casallco). The combination also produced a clear round and crossed the finish line in 84.17 seconds. Home rider Iván Serrano Sáez completed the podium aboard Rain Man (Chacco-Blue) after another clear effort in 84.98 seconds.
Fourth place went to Spain’s Alberto Marquez Galobardes riding Kelly (Kannan). One rail down left the pair on four penalties, but their quick time of 84.44 seconds kept them near the top of the leaderboard.
Rounding out the top five was Zoe Conter with Tombola Z (Toulon). The Belgian rider delivered a competitive round with four penalties in 84.62 seconds to secure a strong placing in the highly competitive 1.60m class.
