Tonight, a total prize pot of €105,500 was up for grabs in the 1.50m Caixabank Trophy at Casas Novas. Out of the 49 combinations at the start, 16 pairs managed to produce a clear performance. In the end, it was Henrik von Eckermann who clocked the fastest time in the saddle of the KWPN mare, Glamour Girl (VDL Zirocco Blue, breeder: Stoeterij Gaesbeek).
Von Eckermann and the 14-year-old mare finished more than two seconds ahead of Armando Trapote and the Paul Schockemöhle-bred Tornado VS (Toulon). Third place went to Matthew Sampson and the 12-year-old gelding, Latte Macchiato (Pacino, breeder: Michael Kelly).
The Brit relegated Philipp Schulze Topphoff and Carla NRW (Comme Il Faut) to fourth place. Also delivering a clear round, Joseph Stockdale completed the top five in the saddle of the 11-year-old Ebanking (Etoulon).
