Jazzy des Dames is leaving the stables of Thibeau Spits to continue his sporting career in the United Arab Emirates. Under the saddle of the Belgian rider, the eleven-year-old sBS stallion (by Emerald van ’t Ruytershof x Calvaro Z) had an exceptionally strong season, establishing himself as a fixture at the highest level.
The duo made a lasting impression at numerous top international events over the past year. Spits and Jazzy des Dames jumped to an impressive third place in the Rome Six Bar, secured third in a 1.45m class in Valkenswaard, and repeated that success with a third-place finish in a 1.50m class in Shanghai. They also demonstrated their class with a strong fifth place at the Sires of Opglabbeek. That Jazzy possesses exceptional jumping genes comes as no surprise; he is the full brother of Izara des Dames, who finished second in the Longines Global Champions Tour of Miami this year, and a half-brother to the promising five-year-old stallion Grand des Dames.
For breeder Agnes Demesmaeker and her husband, the sale naturally brings mixed emotions. While they feel a wonderful chapter is coming to an end, saying goodbye as a breeder is always tough after all the unique moments enjoyed at the world's most beautiful shows this season. Nevertheless, they are already looking ahead with high hopes. Following a well-deserved break in the pasture, the five-year-old Grand des Dames will soon return to Gauthier Mercenier's stables to prepare for his upcoming six-year-old season.
