"She is a careful, scopy and brave mare who always gives you her absolute best, paired with a lovely big stride," Terceira recalls. That ambition bore fruit: the pair delivered an impressive 8th-place finish individually at the 2011 Pan-Am Games. The partnership proved to be a fantastic match, going on to secure standout performances on the international stage, including a top spot in the Grand Prix de Lyon in 2012 and a top placing at the CSI4* Glock event in Treffen, before Bernadien briefly transitioned to an amateur rider.

In 2016, Bernadien returned to Terceira. "We jumped a few more competitions together that gave me immense satisfaction," Terceira shares. Following a minor injury, the decision was made to grant the mare a well-deserved retirement from sport.

Now 25 years old, Bernadien remains in magnificent condition, happily enjoying her days. "She is a sweet mare who loves life," says Terceira. "Every time she sees you, she brings so much energy. She truly is my horse of a lifetime."

A Promising Breeding Legacy

Bernadien's exceptional sport qualities are now passing directly to the next generation. Offered in the Equbreeding.auction is her filly, U B Tamara Z, her third foal - having previously produced foals via Tilleman / River Farm Sporthorses early in her life.

Sired by Utamaro d'Ecaussinnes, who brings elasticity and raw power, the filly represents a thoughtfully balanced cross. "Bernadien is built a bit longer, but she brings a smart, intelligent mindset," Terceira explains. "It’s a fantastic combination to complement any weak points."

With world-class athleticism on both sides and a mother whose heart and courage defined a career, U B Tamara Z stands out as an exceptional prospect for the future.
