Last week, former Belgian champion Jos Verlooy won the 1.50m CSI3* Grand Prix in Thermal. On Saturday, the Belgian rider repeated his success with FTS Killossery Konfusion in the 1.55m CSI4* Grand Prix in the American desert.
"When FTS Killossery Konfusion enters the ring, he is simply a true winner. He is really loyal to me," says Verlooy. "This horse gives me so much and keeps delivering! I'm extremely grateful to be able to ride him..."
"The last time I was here was about 12 years ago. Now I'm staying here for a while, and the place has evolved enormously - in a positive way!" concludes Verlooy.
After a jump-off with eight riders, Verlooy stayed ahead of American Keri Potter with Kalimera Van de Nethe Z (Kasanova de La Pomme, breeder: de Nethe NV). The duo was only just faster than Conor Swail with My Lady Vista (Mylord Carthago).
Just outside the top three, Skylar Wireman followed in fourth place with Tornado (Darco). The American rider had previously won the Grand Prix qualifier. In the saddle of the Dutch-bred Kingston (I'M Special de Muze), Vanessa Mannix completed the top five.
