Today the French anthem sounded when the 1.50m Speed Class in Basel completed. France's Julien Gonin jumped to victory aboard his 11-year-old SF-mare, Estrella de la Batia (Diamant de Semilly).
"These classes suit my horse," Goning said after winning. "I'm currently preparing for the summer season as my horse prefers bigger arena's like La Baule."
Gonin and his daughter by Diamant de Semilly, bred by Sabine Dechamboux, referred, Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida with Solidat (Semper Fi) to the runner-up position. The stage was completed by Marlon Modolo Zanotelli and his 10-year-old Zangersheide-mare, Talina du Vivier Z (Taalex).
Marlon Zanotelli stayed ahead of compatriot, Yuri Mansur, who followed aboard Clariquada T (Clarimo). The top five of this 1.50m CSI5* class was completed by Switzerland's own, Bryan Balsiger and Castiel (Casalito).
