In the CSI5* 1.55m H.H. The Father Amir’s Prix, it was a classic jump-off class where a clear round in the first phase was the ticket to a fast battle against the clock in the barrage. With 32 combinations on the start list and a top 13 making it onto the final results sheet, the standard was high, and Belgian breeding ultimately stood on the top step of the podium.
Victory went to Germany’s Christopher Kläsener, who guided the BWP gelding Popeye Vd Bisschop, bred by Tom De Craene, to two faultless rounds and stopped the clock in a winning 35.92 seconds in the jump-off.
Scott Brash kept Great Britain firmly in contention with Hello Chadora Lady (Chacco-Blue). He also produced a double clear, but had to settle for second place in 36.53 seconds. Switzerland’s Nadja Peter Steiner completed the podium with the Zangersheide gelding Clearround IL Mondo (Comme Il Faut), bred by Tim Naessens. She, too, stayed clear throughout and posted a time of 38.46 seconds.
Fourth place went to Millie Allen, who delivered another double-clear performance with the BWP mare Quickly D vh Ijzerenlindehof (Quint vh Maarlo Z), bred by Jean Jonkmans, in 39.12 seconds.
The top five was completed by Brazil’s Marlon Modolo Zanotelli, who also kept a clean sheet with Charly Heart (Cornet Obolensky) and crossed the line in 39.94 seconds—meaning the entire top five produced double faultless performances in this 1.55m CSI5* class.
