The Christmas Challenge took centre stage on Sunday evening in London’s Olympia arena, an international 1.50m jump-off class counting for the Longines Ranking.
Victory went to France’s Kevin Staut with Hermes de Vesquerie (Vigo d’Arsouilles). The pair produced a faultless jump-off and stopped the clock at 34.17 seconds to take the win. Denmark’s Zascha Nygaard followed in second place with Com’on Miss Ogano Sit (Ogano Sitte), also clear, in 34.57 seconds.
Norway’s Geir Gulliksen completed the top three with Oh la La van Overis (Otangelo), double clear in 39.42 seconds.
Just outside the podium, Luxembourg’s Victor Bettendorf finished fourth with Encore Toi du Linon (Cosinhus). He was the fastest in the jump-off in 33.59 seconds but picked up four faults.
Dutch rider Hessel Hoekstra secured fifth with VDL Mindset Es (Aganix du Seigneur) after four faults in 34.97 seconds.
