This award, established in 2004 in conjunction with the FEI, recognizes the important involvement of horse owners in the sport of show jumping. It is supported by the Swiss watch brand Longines, the official sponsor of the Jumping Owners Club (JOC).  

Chairman of the JOC, Robin Cleary Parsky, said, “It is with sincere pleasure that we award the Owners of the Year to two of the most revered horsewomen of show jumping. Over the past several years Lady Harris and Lady Kirkham have generously supported Scott Brash and his horses, helping them succeed at the very highest levels of international show jumping across the globe. We as friends and fellow owners applaud their commitment to their horses and to our sport.  They are exceptional role models, and we wish them continued success.”
