At a height of 1.60m, the second round of the FEI Jumping World Cup was jumped this evening. The riders started in reverse order and all competed for a spot in Sunday's final. Martin Fuchs ultimately takes home the victory! "This was a fantastic win for the audience and for me! Tomorrow we'll rest a bit, and on Sunday, we'll go all in again!"
In the jump-off, Daniel Coyle was the first to start with the twelve-year-old KWPN gelding Incredible (Clinton x Heartbreaker). After a stop at the first jump, the pair regrouped but had to settle for 19 points. The Frenchman Julien Epaillard ultimately did not start in the jump-off, presumably because he still held the lead within the top six of the jump-off.
The eventual winner was the world number seven, Martin Fuchs! Fuchs won aboard Leone Jei, a thirteen-year-old KWPN gelding from the sire line of Baltic VDL (bred by Gijs van Mersbergen). Max Kühner then placed second with Elektric Blue P (Eldorado vd Zeshoek x For Pleasure), and Alessandra Volpi completed the podium with Gipsy Love (Guidam Sohn x l'Esprit).
Just outside the podium, Hans-Dieter Dreher and Elysium (VDL Zirocco Blue x Coronado) opened the top five, and Daniel Coyle ultimately rounded out the top five aboard Incredible (Clinton x Heartbreaker).
