The 2025 Devon Horse Show delivered another thrilling evening of world-class sport on Wednesday night with the $38,700 1.45m Main Line Challenge, an FEI CSI4* event presented by The Philadelphia Trust. Under the lights of the iconic Dixon Oval, 35 top international horse-and-rider combinations from seven countries contested a demanding course set by renowned course designer Anderson Lima.
Lima’s two-phase track featured 12 obstacles and 14 jumping efforts, challenging competitors to balance precision with speed. Of the 35 entries, 21 managed to post double-clear rounds, but none could match the pace of McLain Ward (USA), who galloped to the top spot aboard La Serra (Casall x Lacros) with a blazing time of 31.05 seconds.
Just behind Ward was Kaitlin Campbell (USA) riding Bull Run’s Hesed (Christian 25 x Lord Z), who stopped the clock in 31.76 seconds. Rounding out the podium was Jessica Springsteen (USA) on Galaxy Girl (Casanova x Cyprian), finishing in 31.91 seconds.
Returning to Devon with a seasoned string, Ward reflected on the importance of the venue: “We have these horses here at home, and I have Callas, a longtime partner here, so these are important events, and I enjoy them. For these developing horses, you know, it’s good for them to get the experience, as well.”
With top American riders dominating the leaderboard and a packed crowd cheering them on, the Devon Horse Show once again proved why it remains a staple of the international show jumping calendar.
