French top rider Inès Joly has announced the sale of her horse, Ambassador Z (breeder: Jos Lansink). Just last year, the French rider won the Longines Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Monte-Carlo with the 11-year-old stallion. The pair competed in their final international event at the end of last month.
Abdel Saïd had already ridden the son of Aganix du Seigneur last year, and now the Belgian-Egyptian showjumper has proceeded with the purchase. Said's rider, Samuel Hutton will take over the reins.
"Ambassador Z, you were an extraordinary partner... I feel incredibly grateful that our paths crossed. In just one year together — my very first season at CSI 5 level — you made my dreams come true,"* said Inès Joly.
"From the win in the 5 Grand Prix of Monaco to second place in the 4 Grand Prix at the CSIO in Rabat, and my first LGCT final... This journey exceeded anything I had ever dreamed of. You gave me unforgettable moments and took me further than I ever thought possible. Saying goodbye is never easy, but I know you’re in good hands. I’m looking forward to seeing you shine under Samuel Hutton in the United States with Abdel Saïd’s team. And I’m sure we’ll be hearing a lot more about you."
