The current world number 15, Grégory Wathelet (BEL), has secured an exciting new prospect for his stables. The eight-year-old stallion, Herald d’Emeraude (Emerald van ’t Ruytershof x L’arc de Triomphe), makes the move to Belgium from the stables of French rider Bernard Briand Chevalier.
Herald d’Emeraude has been developed on the (inter)national circuit by Chevalier, marking yet another high-profile transition between the French rider and Wathelet’s stable. Under Chevalier’s guidance, the Selle Français stallion successfully competed up to 1.45m level.
At Wathelet’s yard, the stallion will be given the necessary time to further evolve within the sport. "The owners do not have a commercial goal in mind," Wathelet told Jump-Off. "The owner simply hopes that this horse will show him the world..."
