The atmosphere at the Partner Pferd in Leipzig was electric this Sunday morning. While the elite prepared for the World Cup, the future stars of the jumping circuit took center stage for the Youngster Tour Finals. In two nerve-wracking classes, the best 7- and 8-year-old talents proved that the future of showjumping is in very capable hands.
The morning kicked off with the Theurer Trucks 2GO Youngster Tour Final for 7-year-olds. Over a technical 1.40m track, the young horses had to show not just scope, but the intelligence to handle the tight atmosphere of the Leipzig arena.
In the end Marvin Jüngel and Stal Hendrix' bred KWPN-mare, Odesza HX (Kempinski) jumped to the win in this 2 phase class. Only two combinations managed to stay clear. Mario Stevens and his own, Coachella 16 (K.I. Checkter) followed as runner-up, while Germany's Laura Klaphake completed the stage aboard the 7-year-old Hannover-mare, Coachella 14 (Cascadello Boy, breeder: Harry Laakman).
8-Year-Olds: A Preview of Grand Prix Glory
As the jumps were raised to 1.45m for the 8-year-old Final (Class 13), the intensity shifted. This is the age where "potential" becomes "performance," and the class of 2026 did not disappoint. Tom Schewe managed to set the winning performance aboard his own, Amanda Blue (Action Blue, breeder: Franz-Josef Sankjohanser). The pair was over a second faster as Frederic Tillmann and the 8-year-old United H&B (Uriko, breeder: Hans-Otto Krohn).
Germany's Marco Kutscher completed the stage together with Berit Welzel's bred gelding, Chacboy Blue BW (Chacoon Blue).
