In Lyon, the audience was treated to top-level sport on Saturday evening. In the 1.60m Equita Master, by Hermès Sellier, only Petronella Andersson managed to complete both rounds without faults. The Swedish rider jumped to victory with the 11-year-old BWP mare Odina van Klapscheut (by Zazu, breeder: Mivaro bvba).
The 1.60m main class in Lyon was held over two rounds. Together with the 11-year-old BWP mare Odina van Klapscheut, Andersson was the only one to remain double clear. The pair thus stayed ahead of Julien Epaillard with the world’s number one showjumping horse, Donatello d’Auge (by Jarnac). The gelding, bred by Susana Epaillard Garcia Cereceda, ended the year at the top of the WBFSH ranking.
Gregory Wathelet and Special Cera du Maillet Z (by Stakkato) followed in third place. Wathelet, who started second to last, narrowly pushed Annelies Vorsselmans out of the top three.
Vorsselmans still finished fourth with her 10-year-old Zangersheide mare C. Kulottie W Z (by Comme Il Faut). Riding before his home crowd, Kevin Staut completed the top five with the 10-year-old SF mare Feline de Hus HDC (by Kannan).
