The CSI4 Grand Prix of Ascona was built at a height of 1.55m.* After a jump-off with six jumps, Robert Whitaker claimed victory in the saddle of the 11-year-old Vermento (Argento). Whitaker was the only one to finish clear in under 40 seconds.
Robert Whitaker and the 11-year-old Argento offspring were just under two seconds faster than Fernando Martinez Sommer and the 13-year-old BWP mare, Lady van de Haarterhoeve (Casall). Only these two combinations managed to complete the jump-off without faults. In the saddle of the 11-year-old KWPN gelding, In Time (Biscayo), Kendra Claricia Brinkop completed the top three.
Brinkop thus relegated Niklaus Schurtenberger with C-Steffra (Clarimo) to fourth place. Austrian Dominik Juffinger completed the top five with Diachacco (Diarado).
