The third individual 5* class of the Longines Global Champions Tour Playoffs in Prague, the 60,000-euro 1.50m jump-off competition, turned into a true speed thriller. With ten clear rounds in the first phase, including five (!) from Belgium, the jump-off promised fireworks, and it delivered.
The fastest time in the decisive round came from Germany’s Sophie Hinners. Aboard Iron Dames Combella (Cornet du Lys), she stopped the clock at 33.57 seconds to take the win, finishing more than two-tenths ahead of her closest rival.
Abdel Saïd followed in second place with the 10-year-old Quaker Brimbelles Z (Quicksilver St Simeon) in 33.79 seconds, giving Belgium an immediate presence on the podium. Denmark’s Andreas Schou completed the top three with Billy Matador (Billy Mexico) in 34.72 seconds.
Marco Kutscher piloted Aventador S (Armitage) to fourth place in 34.97 seconds, while Koen Vereecke and the 13-year-old Emerald mare Merryweather Vt Leeuwerikenhof secured fifth in 35.29 seconds.
