The inaugural Swiss Final will take place from 4-7 September 2025, at the National Equestrian Institute of Avenches (IENA). This marks Switzerland's debut as host in the Longines EEF Series, with the partnership securing the Swiss venue for the Finals through to the 2027 season.

The Longines EEF Series, now in its fifth year, is Europe's premier Nations Cup competition for developing show jumping talent. The series follows a progressive format with eight regional qualifiers across Europe and two semi-finals determining the top 10 teams for the Final in Avenches (SUI). Teams will compete over two rounds with four athletes per team, counting the best three scores from each round toward the team total.

"We are thrilled to bring the Longines EEF Series Final to Switzerland,” EEF President Theo Ploegmakers said. “The IENA venue offers an ideal setting, and we are delighted to introduce the Series to a country with a genuine passion for equestrian sport. Our sincere gratitude goes to Longines for their continued support as title sponsor. This valuable partnership is instrumental in propelling the Longines EEF Series towards even greater prominence. We are also excited that Switzerland, as the heart of Europe, provides an accessible and strategic location for all participating countries, making it an ideal host for our series final."

Renowned for its world-class facilities and stunning natural landscape, IENA's expansive 142-hectare grounds provide the perfect setting for international equestrian competitions. The venue will host nearly 300 horses and 100 elite international athletes throughout this prestigious event.

The Organising Committee will be led by three distinguished figures in Swiss equestrianism: Edwin Smits (Event Director), former Swiss elite team member and organiser of the Chevenez Challenges; Julien Pradervand (Sports Director), an accomplished international course designer and organiser of the Crête competitions; and Anthony Darioly (Technical Director), who brings extensive experience in equestrian event management.

The Swiss Equestrian Federation is fully committed to supporting and ensuring the success of this event in Switzerland and expressed great enthusiasm for hosting this prestigious event. Damian Müller, President of Swiss Equestrian, remarked that this event provides an "exceptional opportunity to showcase our country's rich equestrian tradition and dedication to the sport" and will be a "fantastic opportunity to further cement Switzerland's position on the international equestrian stage.

"This event will also provide an exceptional showcase for IENA, a true gem in the equestrian world, introducing it not only to Swiss enthusiasts but also to a new international audience. IENA offers a unique format, and we are looking forward to presenting it to Europe. We want to position our country, our federation, and IENA in a targeted and sustainable way within the equestrian world," he concluded.

In addition to the CSIO4* competition, the Avenches Horse Show will feature events reserved for the U25 athletes as well as regional competitions. Exhibition areas and catering will be available for spectators, with free entry making it accessible to fans of all ages.
