The Belgian national coach admires like no other the inner – or at least seemingly inner – peace and calm of young talent Thibeau Spits. Growing up in a horse family means you naturally inherit certain values. That is no different for one of Belgium’s greatest showjumping prospects: Thibeau Spits. Yet his career did not look destined for success from the very beginning. His road to the European title was one filled with fears, doubts and unexpected turns. “He knows extremely well how to deal with stress, but once in a while a release is necessary,” says his mother Kristel.
